Saturday, February 20th: A Celebration of Half Mystic Radio

In drawing Season II of our Radio project to a close, we’re feeling grateful beyond belief for all the support you’ve shown the podcast—& thrilled as wildfire to unveil what’s coming next. This is the final season of Half Mystic Radio. As we wrap up the series, we want to celebrate this magnificent thing we made with you.

In that spirit, please join us next Saturday, February 20th at 6 PM EST for a celebration on Instagram Live. Tune in for performances & readings from some of the “greatest hits” of the poets & musicians in both seasons of the podcast: Ben Togut, Paola Bennet, Anthony Thomas Lombardi, Logan February, John the Rabbit, Stephanie Dogfoot, & more. The event is hosted by me, editor-in-chief Topaz Winters, & you can attend online from anywhere in the world. RSVP here!

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to the podcast—it’s available for free on every major platform, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Overcast, Soundcloud, Stitcher, & Amazon Music. Each episode features one poet performing their work, set to songs by independent musicians. They interrogate, linger with, & put in conversation & context art by diverse artists in diverse mediums, expanding & redefining narratives of what poetry & music “should” be. Season I was hosted by myself, & Season II by guest host Stephanie Dogfoot. The project was completed, at 16 episodes featuring 32 poets and musicians, in January 2021.

All episodes are under 15 minutes, & most are under 10. It’s a perfect binge-listen before Saturday’s show!

We realise that most things are uncertain right now. A global pandemic has been raging for nearly a year. Governments are shifting; vaccines are distributed; dawn sings into shadow & then back on itself again. But the music remains, always, always. This is what we came for: the wreck, & not the story of the wreck. The thing itself, & not the myth. Half Mystic loves you. See you on the 20th.
