As the throes of winter descend upon us & daylight fades to silence, it’s an honour to share that we have reached the end of Half Mystic's submission period for Issue II: Saudade. Over the past six months, the HM team has received over 150 submissions from 90 writers & musicians celebrating the the drifting photograph – the ache so tender-willing – the shards of bitter-soft yearning just before the fall. We pored over each one with infinite tenderness, cried at more than a few, marvelled at the gorgeous letters to us you enclosed with each of your works. If the allegro issue was a period of racing heart-song, the saudade issue was where we stepped back, took a deep breath, and let ourselves fall into softness.
The final chosen pieces - twenty of the best, most viscerally delicate works of music & writing out of our submission pool - will be arranged into a carefully-crafted symphony, to be delivered to your doorstep on December 18th. We truly cannot wait for you to witness it, in all of its glory.
